1 Museum Road,
This small coffee shop is a gem of a find. Portsmouth can be so busy, especially during semester time for the University, this is a cosy oasis in an unexpected place.Signposted at the entrance to the museum, it is open from 10 a.m. daily. Hot meals are served as well as snacks and sandwiches, order at the counter and you will be served at your table. The food is excellent basic fare, which rather reminds me of being spoilt at Grandma's house.Of course, it wouldn't be Grandma's if there wasn't cake-to-die for - and there is. In huge domes on the counter are scrumptious choices, from which to pick a slice. The prices are very competitive, I think you would be hard pushed to find something more reasonable. My choice - tea and a toasted current teacake. The downside - now I've told you it isn't my little secret any more.
