An authentic Italian Restaurant located in an old 18th Century Coach House.
I visited Villa Romana for a meal with my boyfriend, having lived in Fareham for a couple of years, but never having eaten there before. The interior is lovely - bare brick walls, low lighting, dark wood beams and a large bar as you go in.Service was very good - friendly, prompt and helpful and the menu had a good balance between pasta dishes and also meat and fish main courses. The standard of food was very good - both my starter (aubergine rolls with smoked cheese and mushroom) and my main (pasta with chicken, mushroom and asparagus) were delicious and with very generous servings - I couldn't finish mine which is unusual.Unfortunately however, I found 2 hairs (definitely not mine) in my main course which was rather off putting. I'm not overly fussy and tried not to let it dampen an otherwise lovely meal. I mentioned it to the waiter and he was very apologetic.Yep - I'll definitely go back, but I have my fingers crossed that someone will buy a hairnet for the chef.

What more can you really say. As close to perfect as you can get. This is a real find and would recommend this to the pope. The atmosphere, decoration, food and service are all five star. You will need to book espically on weekends, but this place deserves a Michellin star. Romana is ideal for large parties or small intermit occasions.A little pricy, but you do get what you pay for. There is a fantastic Christmas menu every year and they cater for every dietary need almost. The place to for Christmas when the boss is paying, you can really go to town here.
They coped well with our table of 14 people. Service was very good and well organised. The food portions were very generous and the food was cooked and presented well. Lovely building too. Would definitely return.
