About Us

Brief description

With 38 years experience in the Marine Industry, John is an Accredited Member of the YDSA (Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association) and surveys GRP vessels. He carries out: pre-purchase, insurance renewal, structural and damage surveys together with Mast & Rigging Inspections, Valuations & Tonnage Measurements etc.

Any Specialist Products or Services?

John works for individual clients, on behalf of insurance companies and boat builders. The reports produced are factual statements on the condition of a vessel at the time of inspection and are dependant upon the type of survey commissioned. A copy of the report is sent out within 72hrs of the survey being completed, in the form of a PDF document sent direct to the customer’s computer and a hard copy via 1st class post. Oil and fluid samples can be taken for analysis.

    Hi John, I have just got the hard copy. Its the model of what a survey should be, comprehensive, clear and precise. In view of the potentially serious nature of the deck distortion, and the state of the teak deck, I have decided not to go ahead with the purchase.( I have to say that the vendor did not appear surprised or dismayed.....as I certainly would have been...) As luck would have it I am off to view another 1 of these boats in Scotland, & hoping for better things. Thanks again, I am sure you have saved me a lot of sleepless nights, anxiety and hard cash!
