went for a meal, nice restaurant seating indoors, if weather had been better we could of sat outside, view of seafront. food was good, plenty of if, freshly cooked, price not too bad. service good, nice ambience. pub side can be noisy so get table over far side of restaurant. some nice fresh fish and specials. overall enjoyable. would go again.
The food here is really good and at a reasonable price too.
From the outside this pub looks a bit shabby but it actually houses quite a nice restaurant. They also have a skittles alley which looked quite interesting and might make a nice evening out.The menu was a decent list, with additional specials of the day - although on the day we went (a Saturday lunchtime) they had run out of steak, which seems like a pretty basic item to keep supplies of if you are running a restaurant. The burger which was the nearest substitute was pretty good though, as were the chips. There was no children's menu, and they weren't prepared to give us a smaller portion for a smaller price, so we ended up having to pay £8 for sausage and chips for an 18-month-old child, which was a bit of a waste of money. They do have an over-60s menu which some of our party took advantage of, but only after being put through an interrogation in order to prove that they were actually old enough to have it! I have to say that the waiting staff were friendly enough, but gave the impression that they would be in trouble with the management if they let anyone "get away with" anything.Given that there isn't vast amounts of choice in the area I would probably go back - the food was certainly okay, and the location is good - but I might sneak in sandwiches for the baby!
