This is a great pub to visit. The food is good if a bit pricey but the atmosphere is just how a pub should be. Nice walks nearby in the summer too. This pub has beautiful views if you can bag one of the tables in the window overlooking the river. Highly recommend.

This is a great greasy spoon caf. The manageress Gerry is one of the nicest people I have ever met. The food is good too - served quickly even when they are busy and at a good price. Go there!

This is by far the worst pizza hut we have ever eaten in. The service is dire. They keep you waiting by the door for a table for ages even when you can see that there are many empty ones. My son is disabled and can't stand for long periods but they never help by guiding us to one of these empty tables early. Once seated the drinks arrive quickly but then you wait for ages for your order to be taken, wait even longer for the meals to arrive and then wait again for your desert order to be taken. Our last meal there was dire. Half our order was unavailable and when it arrived it was inedible. They didn't even have any hot drinks for sale. This branch really needs a shake up. Others we have visited in Chichester, Portsmouth North Harbour and Southsea are much much better. This one is just awful.

We have eaten here as a family many times over the years and until recently the standard was always very good. Sadly we have had several poor meals and although we tried to give them a chance to improve the last meal we had for ten of us so spoilt a special family occasion that we have never gone back and we doubt we will. To be fair they did reimburse us for a dire meal but some special occasions cannot be repeated and the food really spoilt ours. Hopefully they will turn it around and bring it back up to the standard it once enjoyed.

This is one of the nicest situated pubs on the island with good views over the creek at the back but it has recently become a carvery. It is a part of a chain as I ate in one of their branches in Peacehaven recently and it was much better food there. The meal I had from the carvery at the Sloop was one of the worst I have ever had. Almost inedible. I would not recommend this particular branch even if it is cheap food.

Unfortunately this is not one of the best McDonalds. The chips are always cold probably because they are kept by the drive thru window and the draught through there is terrific. The toilets are rarely clean but the staff are mostly friendly.

I would say this was in Brading not Sandown but anyway the cafe is a great place to eat. The cakes are fantastic, the quiche even better and the coleslaw to die for. The ladies that serve are very friendly and helpful and the prices are reasonable. Not so sure about the arty stuff for sale in the rest of the shop.

This has all the promise of being a lovely place to eat and yet the service (terrible - the women who are nice always either forget something from your order or act so stressed) and the quality of the food let it down. The milkshakes are to be avoided. My little boy drank a chocolate one and then was terribly sick in the toilet. He is very rarely ill so there must have been something wrong with it. The cakes look nice but are dry and over sweet. Sorry - one to avoid.

This is just the best hairdressers. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They don't inflict their own ideas although they are willing to suggest styles and products. The prices are reasonable and the surroundings classy but comfortable. They are good with men, women or children's hair. What are you waiting for - book an appointment today!

If you are looking for somewhere for breakfast this is the very best place. Their scrambled egg is to die for, the granary/brown bread has a lovely flavour to it. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are mostly very friendly. The only downside is it is quite cold but I am a chilly morsel so this might be me and we were disappointed with the cakes when we tried them once. But as they buy these cakes in then it is not the fault of the excellent chef. It really is the very best place for a breakfast at a very reasonable price. Go there!
